This Cookie Policy explains the cookies Tidbit uses. In short: a strictly necessary cookie keeps you signed in, a preference cookie remembers your cookie choice, and Google Analytics cookies on our production website help us understand and improve how the site is used. We set no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device to make the site work or to remember information about your visit. This Cookie Policy explains which cookies Tidbit sets, why, and how you can control them. It supplements, and should be read together with, our Privacy Policy.
2. The cookies we set
Tidbit uses three kinds of cookies. First, strictly necessary cookies: the cookies required to keep you signed in and to keep your session secure; without them the authenticated parts of the Service cannot function, and they do not require prior consent. Second, a preference cookie that remembers the choice you make in the cookie notice. Third, analytics cookies: our production website uses Google Analytics (GA4, loaded via Google’s gtag.js script), which sets first-party analytics cookies and sends usage measurements to Google LLC, acting as our service provider, so we can understand and improve how the site is used. Analytics are off by default and run only if you allow them in the cookie notice: we use Google Consent Mode, so no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent until you choose to allow it, and declining or ignoring the notice leaves analytics off.

3. What we do NOT set
We do not set any advertising, marketing, profiling, or cross-site tracking cookies, and we embed no advertising pixels or social-media widgets. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising features, and we do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Our marketing pages show a cookie notice where you can record your preference about the analytics cookie; your choice is stored in the tidbit_consent cookie and your browser’s local storage.
4. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We do not track you across other websites and we do not sell or share your personal information, so a Do Not Track (DNT) or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal has no additional sale-or-sharing to switch off. Google Analytics on our production website measures the use of our own site only. See the corresponding section of our Privacy Policy for more detail.
5. How to control cookies
You control cookies through your browser: all major browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies from their settings or privacy menu, including the Google Analytics cookies. Google also provides a browser add-on that disables Google Analytics measurement, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Blocking or deleting analytics cookies does not affect your ability to use the site or the Service.
If you block or delete the session cookie while signed in, you will be logged out and the authenticated parts of the Service will stop working until you sign in again and a new session cookie is set.
6. Changes to this policy
When we change the cookies we use, we update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above.
